  • Drill on February 21st will also be at Station #1.  DRILL WILL BEGIN AT 18:30.

We will hold an Association meeting on Tuesday, February 21st beginning at 18:00 to discuss upcoming spring events.  Please bring your ideas.

Last month at drill we worked on the Essentials program and held an EMS Training.

The Cabin Fever Party has been scheduled for Friday, February 24th at Station #1.  Social hour will begin at 6:00 pm with dinner being served at 6:30 pm.  This year’s meal will consist of a taco bar.  The Fire District will provide the main dish, side dish, soda, and water.  If your last name begins with a letter between A thru K, please bring an appetizer; if your last name begins with a letter between L thru Z, please bring a dessert.  PLEASE NOTE:  The Board voted at the last meeting that alcohol will NOT be allowed at this activity.  We hope to see you there.

You’re looking to give your husband or wife a romantic evening at home.  You set the mood with candles strategically placed all over the house.  Unfortunately, you didn’t plan on the heater coming on and softly blowing the curtains over your flame.  Practice candle safety even on a romantic day like Valentine’s.  Remember to “Candle with Care” every time you use a candle.

Use candle holders that are sturdy, won’t tip over easily, are made from a material that can’t burn, and are large enough to collect dripping wax.

Place candle holders on a sturdy, uncluttered surface – away from edges and any place where they could be knocked over.  Place lit candles away from windows or near doorways, where drafts could bring combustibles in contact with the flame.

Keep candles at least one foot from anything that can burn including bedding, curtains and blinds, wall paper, upholstered furniture, piles of clothing, newspapers, and magazines.

Light candles carefully.  Keep your hair and loose clothing away from the flame.

Keep candle wicks trimmed to one-quarter inch.

Extinguish candles when they burn down to within two inches of their holder or any decorative material.  Extinguish candles carefully.  Do not leave the room until wicks have stopped glowing.  Be careful not to splatter hot wax when extinguishing a candle.

Do not leave young children unattended in a room with a candle.  Never leave a burning candle unattended.  Extinguish all candles when you leave the room or go to bed.
